What is the HERS system?
The HERS System (or Heat Recovery System) is just one of our answers to the call for sustainability. It’s of our main innovations for 2024.
Through this system, we transform your previously-overlooked hot wastewater into an energy source capable of pre-heating the incoming water. It’s a virtuous cycle of energy use that redefines what it means to take a shower: an everyday action turned into a gesture of care for our planet.
Our HERS System incorporates an innovative shower heat recovery system, as well as one of our shower trays (Andromeda Cover or Sperit Concrete).
As mentioned above, this system recovers heat from the wastewater in the shower to preheat the cold water flowing into the thermostatic mixer, reducing the amount of energy needed to heat the water.
Specifically, this uses the waste heat from the shower water at 40ºC and transfers it to the cold water from the mains at 10ºC. This water, preheated to about 22°C, may be used in taps, boilers and heaters, reducing energy consumption by up to 31% and improving energy efficiency. One in approximately 4 showers requires no energy expenditure.
